Hotel information

In the heart of Oerlikon, just a five minutes’ walk from the Exhibition Centre "Messe Schweiz", the Hallenstadion and the Zurich Oerlikon railway station. Only five minutes by train to the main Zurich railway station and to the Zurich Kloten airport. The "Sternen Oerlikon" tram station is right next to the hotel (tram numbers 10, 11 and 14).


Welcome desk and hotel lobby
The hotel lobby was completely renovated in 2003. The front desk is now furnished with a small welcoming bar and an internet corner.

Meeting room
Suitable for meetings of up to 12 persons. Technical equipment can be supplied upon request, e.g. overhead projector and flip chart.

Parking
There are six parking spaces directly behind the hotel. The hotel’s own indoor car park accommodates ten cars.

The restaurant Sternen Oerlikon is located in the same building as the hotel and is managed as an independent company. Peter Waser, Bruno Pompili and team offer daily a nice selection of Italian dishes for lunch and dinner.

Room information

All rooms are equipped with shower or bath and toilet, hairdryer, cable TV, radio, minibar, safe and direct-dial telephone with an analogue modem connection. Rooms on 1st & 2nd floor have wireless high speed access. Spacious "Standard rooms" and smaller "City rooms". Smoking and non-smoking rooms.

The breakfast room with an inviting breakfast buffet and an international news paper selection is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. CHF 17.00 per person. Coffee and croissants for guests in a hurry are being served at the bar next to the front desk.

Train
From the main train station of Zurich there are direct trains to the train station of “Zurich Oerlikon“ which commute each ten minutes. Within five minutes you’ll reach „Zurich Oerlikon“ train station. The walking distance to the hotel is five minutes. Train tickets second class are at CHF 3.20 one way, CHF 7.20 return ticket. The return ticket is valid for 24 hours.

Street car
From Zurich main train station there are the street cars number 10, 11 und 14 to Zurich Oerlikon. The street car stop near the hotel is named „Sternen Oerlikon“. The trip by street car takes about 15 minutes. Please buy a long distance ticket at
CHF 3.60.

Travelling by car
Arriving from Berne-Basel-Geneva-Karlsruhe-Strassburg
N1 up to crossing N20 Nordring. Leave highway at exit “Oerlikon-Affoltern-Regensdorf” (after tunnel “Gubrist”). Follow the blue signs “Z Messe”. In front of the convention center go in direction of the center of Oerlikon. The Sternen hotel is the red building divided in three parts on the crossing “Schaffhauser-Franklinstrasse”.

Arriving from Chur-Ticino-Italy
N3 up to the end of the high way. Follow transit / airport, the blue signs „Z Messe”. See above.

Train
Each ten minutes, there are direct trains from Zurich airport to „Zurich-Oerlikon“. The trip takes you about five minutes. From there it takes you about five minutes to the hotel by foot. Train tickets second class at CHF 5.40 one way, CHF 10.80 return ticket.

Shuttle bus
The Shuttle bus service takes you to the Sternen hotel each 30 minutes. Costs for one person CHF 25.00, for two persons CHF 30.00.

Rental car
Follow the signs to Zurich city. Leave the highway at the exit “Schwamendingen” (right in front of the 2nd tunnel). At the 2nd light, take a right turn to Oerlikon. At the 2nd light you are in front of the hotel. Take a left turn, then immediately a right turn to the parking in the back of the hotel.

Taxi
The transfer to the hotel costs you about CHF 35.00 and takes 15 minutes.

Comments

Starting in 2007 city tax will be extra charged, CHF 2.50 per person and night.
The hotel offers and own parking (garage) which costs CHF 18 per day. You can also park outdoors which costs CHF 9 per day.
It is a not a secured parking however the hotel advises to reserve before arrival.

The hotel offers internet (Highspeed) which costs CHF 5 per 20 minutes. W-LAN access in all rooms. The only thing you need is a laptop and a wireless card.

Pets (dogs and cats) are allowed in the hotel for CHF 10 - 20 per day.

The hotel is not accessible for disabled people.
